Terms of use

These terms of use (the "Terms") define the conditions for using the Afrilove dating app (the "App"), published by the company SHORTIA LLC (the "Publisher").

Using the App implies full acceptance of the Terms by the user (the "User"). If you do not accept all of these Terms, please do not create an account and do not use the App.

The Publisher reserves the right to amend the Terms at any time. The applicable version is the one in force at the time you use the App.

The App allows the User to discover people who share their interests, communicate with them and, where applicable, build relationships.

Afrilove is aimed in particular at the African community and its diaspora, in a spirit of respect and authenticity.

The App is available free of charge from a smartphone or tablet, provided you have an Internet connection. Some features are paid.

You are not allowed to create an account or access the App unless all of the following is true:

• You are at least 18 years old.
• You can enter into a binding contract with the Publisher.
• You will comply with these Terms and all applicable laws and regulations.
• You have never been convicted of a crime or offence of a sexual nature or involving violence.

Creating an account is required to access the App. You can sign up with an email address and a password, or via the available sign-in methods.

Each User is allowed one single personal account. Using multiple accounts is a serious breach of these Terms.

It is your responsibility to keep your credentials confidential. You are fully responsible for any activity carried out with them.

To preserve the quality of the community, Afrilove may offer identity and photo verification, in particular using artificial intelligence, in order to limit fake profiles.

If a User is suspected of not complying with the access and use conditions, their account may be suspended during an investigation. If the breach is confirmed, the account may be deleted and the User banned from the App.

Every User agrees not to:

• Share or reuse another User's content without their prior written authorisation.
• Breach the rules of decency and to remain courteous towards other Users.
• Use robots, tools or software not provided by the Publisher to interact with other Users.
• Disclose their login credentials to third parties.
• Harm the proper operation of the App or the reputation of the Publisher.
• Intercept, copy or transfer technical data flowing over the network in connection with the App.

Every profile and conversation can be reported from the App. Our moderation team reviews reports and may warn, suspend or ban any account that does not comply with these Terms.

The Publisher reserves the right to remove any content that breaches the Terms or infringes third-party rights as soon as it becomes aware of it.

Afrilove offers premium features accessible through the purchase of hearts (the App's virtual currency) or through subscriptions and direct-access services.

Any payment made on Afrilove is firm and final, except in the following exceptional cases: if the purchased service is not delivered after payment is confirmed (hearts not credited, option not activated), or if a major technical issue on our side prevents you from enjoying it over an extended period. A full or partial refund may then be considered after verification.

No refund will be granted if the User has already started using the purchased service, in case of subjective dissatisfaction (e.g. "I didn't get a match"), or if the issue comes from the Internet connection, the device or a misconfiguration by the User. Purchases made through the app stores are further subject to their own refund policies.

The User can log out or uninstall the App at any time. As long as the account is not deleted, the profile may remain visible to other Users.

The User can permanently delete their account from the App settings. Deletion erases the profile and associated data, subject to legal retention obligations. Deletion is final: to use the App again, a new sign-up will be required.

The Publisher continually improves the App and may add or remove features. In exceptional situations (security, maintenance), the service may be temporarily suspended.

The Publisher reserves the right to terminate an account at any time and without notice if it considers that the User has breached these Terms.

Afrilove encourages respectful exchanges between its members. However, a member's conduct, on or off the App, is not the Publisher's responsibility.

It is up to you to be cautious in your interactions, especially if you decide to communicate outside the App or to meet someone in person. Never share financial information and never transfer money to another member.

The Publisher does not warrant that the App will operate without interruption or error, nor that content obtained via the App will be accurate. Access to any content is at the User's own risk.

To the extent permitted by law, the Publisher, its affiliates and providers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data or goodwill, related to the use of or inability to use the App.

The User agrees to indemnify and hold the Publisher harmless from any claims, demands, damages, losses and expenses (including legal fees) related to the User's breach of these Terms.

These Terms are governed by the law applicable at the registered office of SHORTIA LLC.

In the event of a dispute, the User will first contact the Afrilove internal teams to seek an amicable solution before any legal action.
